15 Easy Tips For Creating A Farmhouse Kitchen

Posted: 08 Jan 2016 05:06 PM PST

Farmhouse kitchens blend a multitude of distinct styles: cottage, vintage, rustic and tradition too. And if you are going to create one, you'll need to know the necessities that help to create and design it. Here are some tips that may help you.

  1. Fresh flowers.
  2. Hardwood floors. that give the beautiful, yet welcoming foundation to the space.
  3. Exposed beams. These can become an integral part of your home's foundational style, especially when creating that welcoming, cozy farmhouse feel.
  4. A range. An old-fashioned range will really help transform your kitchen into a specialized version of a farmhouse escape. It adds the illusion of an old-age room without its modern looks and contemporary tradition.
  5. Farmhouse sink. Also known as an apron-front sink, this goes right along with the vintage range that, if added, can really help to create a space that's finished off with the same style from top to bottom.
  6. Cream cabinets that will contrast well with the wood you'll have around the room and open up the space with a breathy ease.
  7. A butcherblock for a functional and stylish countertop.
  8. Wood walls. Think about painting them cream to utilize the texture but open up the kitchen even more.
  9. Racks to hang pots and pans and wall plate racks.
  10. Jade greens to create a fresh, lively feeling while not becoming too overwhelming or breaking from the vision in mind.
  11. Wooden utensils and white dishes.
  12. Wire baskets.
  13. Pallet art.
  14. Pendant lights.
  15. A fireplace. Add texture – like brick – to its frame and blend it into the style of the room.

Chaotic And Dimensional Helix Wall Shelves

Posted: 08 Jan 2016 12:06 PM PST

There's something chaotic yet beautiful about the Helix furniture system. It can manifest itself on a wall and even continue onto adjacent walls and even the ceiling. Adaptable and modular, the Helix can be arranged in an infinite number of layouts, and be used as bookshelves, lighting enclosures, or even window frames. The shelves are available in white and grey, and if they coincide with your wall color, they'll make it more dimensional and eye-catching. Being so functional it's still a nice décor element with cool geometric shapes, which are so amazing for any modern or minimalist space. Nothing brings a space more alive than this sort of chaotic continuity!

Black And White Minimalist Apartment With Pops Of Yellow

Posted: 08 Jan 2016 05:06 AM PST

Z-AXIS DESIGN created this modern, minimalist apartment with a focus on black and white as the base color. On top of the black and white, they layered in yellow as the main accent color, adding a bright surprise to the open concept space. A bank of L-shaped black cabinets ground the main room and was accented with a horizontal yellow stripe and indirect lighting. One yellow chair brings life to the black dining table and chairs. Behind a transparent door, you'll find the apartment's study which displays a curated collection of toys. Yellow pops up in this space as well in a glass-enclosed display cabinet and in the ceiling channel that holds the pot lights. The master bedroom is decorated in various shades of grey to keep it soothing and neutral.
