| Modern Take On Classics: Texas-Inspired Furniture Collection Posted: 15 Dec 2015 01:17 PM PST New York-based design studio Yucca Stuff recently launched their debut collection of furniture, featuring eight pieces inspired by Texas, the designer's home state. With a nod to architecture and sculpture, the collection is designed to become heirloom pieces to complement the home, passed down from generation to generation. The collection has everything from a modern uptake on the classic tension-pole shelving to a sleek sideboard made of oak, steel, and saddle leather hardware, all the pieces are made in New York from locally sourced American hardwoods. I also love a slight hint on industrial design – the legs of the furniture and the poles of the shelves are done in industrial-looking metal. | Modern Annex Home With Lots Of Wood In Decor Posted: 15 Dec 2015 05:17 AM PST DUBBELDAM Architecture recently completed a residential project for a young couple in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The house was called Annex because it originally consisted of two volumes. The new interiors feature an open floor plan throughout, the most notable design feature being a large wooden volume that hides ductwork, storage and a bathroom. On the outside, it is detailed with wood, clear and translucent panels and includes built-in seating flanking the entrance to the dining room. Upstairs, the master bedroom features a soothing gray color palette and minimalistic design, with a comfortable seating area bathed in sunlight. Also on the third floor, an en suite spa-inspired bath includes a stand-alone tub and a glass shower, as well as a walk-out wooden deck.
