Modern Czech Home Is Both Open and Private Posted: 27 Dec 2015 06:00 AM PST JVArchitekt designed this modern home in Olomouc-Slavonin, Czech Republic, for a family whose main request was for a high level of privacy. The project team developed this contemporary residence with three wings, which create a U-shaped floor plan that faces south, and an inner atrium. The main entrance is in the east wing of the building, connected to the access road. A hallway leads to the workroom (occasionally used as a guest room), dressing room, shower and utility room with laundry. The northern wing of the house, the main living area, opens up to the private atrium. Floor-to-ceiling windows connect this social zone to a landscaped courtyard. The children’s bedrooms are in the west wing of the house, connected to the main living space by a large corridor. By using minimalist furnishings and bright finishes, the architects achieved an airy and stylish modern feel. The house is equipped with a cooling system, electronic security and smart automation. Modern Office in Romania Is Not Your Father’s Dental Clinic Posted: 26 Dec 2015 12:00 PM PST ARhit.BAAR Architecture completed the design of DentalMed, a dental clinic in Bucharest, Romania. The aim of the design team was to create a modern space with surprising angular volumes and enhanced by LED lighting. The office also had to be versatile and multi-functional. The clinic consists of 10 dental areas, reception and waiting rooms, five bathrooms, a conference room and offices. The ideal balance between the exterior architecture and interior design was achieved by cohesive design down to the furnishings and custom elements. The goal was to design a space that helped patients relax and forget about the pressure and tension commonly associated with a dental clinic.
