Sustainable Plug Table That Is Easy To Transport

Posted: 04 Dec 2015 01:59 PM PST

It is a matter of fact that when we purchase a piece of furniture, we are often inevitably forced to deal with issues of assembly and transportation. These “problematic” aspects of furniture production and anatomy is where my project started and how the idea behind the Plug Table came to fruition. The final form includes a circular metal shape inlaid with two wooden discs; one wooden piece is the base and the other is the top of the table itself. Between these two wooden discs there is a 2cm space where is possible to storage three extra legs. All the assembly pieces can be stored within the tabletop, which is only 4 cm thick. Awesome, isn't it?

Striking And Dramatic Athens House In Moody Colors

Posted: 04 Dec 2015 06:59 AM PST

Located in the northern suburbs of Athens, this family-run house called M22A was previously divided into two separate buildings, but Omreta design team combined these buildings into one. The décor is modern and dramatic, the color scheme is rather moody yet looks energetic: grey, black, beige and brown with splashes of gold. Beautiful textures and materials used give the feeling of luxury: velvet, natural wood and matte metal. I love the living room design a lot – a hidden fireplace, a giant black yarn lamp and cool modern coffee table leave a lasting impression. Functional zones like the kitchen and bathroom are done in lighter shades to accentuate them and get a better light.

3 Tips And 34 Examples To Unite The Kitchen And The Living Room Right

Posted: 03 Dec 2015 07:14 PM PST

Today open-plan interiors are super trendy because they enlarge your space and create a whole zone for communicating and having fun. If you aren't ready for a whole loft-like space, you can try just to unite the kitchen and the living room. Here are some tips to do that right.

  1. Define the size of each zone: if you often invite family and friends for a dinner, make the kitchen area larger.
  2. Binding elements. Think of a single color scheme for both zones as the transition between the areas should be smooth and gentle. The décor style should also be single for both, so choose the furniture accordingly.
  3. Functionality. All the kitchen surfaces should be functional for cooking, and the hood should be very well working to avoid food smells in the living room zone. Multi-level kitchen lights will be very useful and you won't light the living area too much.
